ITEM DESCRIPTION: These flower adorned vases are among the loveliest and most versatile produced in the era, with their gently arcing Moderne silhouettes and stylized flower bud decoration. While the soft ivory color blends well with virtually any color scheme, their inherent charm helps them stand out.

DECOR STORY: McCoy pottery produced many vases over its history, preferring stylized designs and single color glazes; this emphasis on simplicity produced many winning pieces which are still attractive by today's standards. This pair is appropriate for small and medium bouquets of flowers or grasses. Due to their nearly flat backs, they can also function as a set of bookends with or without contents.

CONDITION: For McCoy items, the condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. As a mass market pottery they produced items quickly with an emphasis on affordability. Thus many items have small quirks that add to their charm. This pair shows its personality with slightly different wall thicknesses, a glaze pop on one lily bud (the front vase in picture two), and light crazing discernible only on close inspection on one vase. Both are marked McCoy, one more visibly than the other (but the marks are very difficult to photograph well in this color glaze, see photo five).

SIZE: 8.25” high by 5.75” wide on the diagonal, from stem tip to vase edge.

CIRCA: 1940-1943, based on the marks.

SHIPPING: Because this item is breakable, the shipping costs automatically include insurance.
