"Buttercups and daisies-
Oh the pretty flowers,
Coming ere the springtime
To tell of sunny hours.
While the trees are leafless,
While the fields are bare,
Buttercups and daisies
Spring up here and there."
by Mary Howitt

Bright yellow, almost orange thread wrap makes these six-petal buttercups. "Merry-go-round" stitching around the equator creates a line of teal diamonds and leaves the buttercup image on either side of the ball. This design is featured in my new book "Temari Techniques" coming next spring.

3 1/4" diameter temari is filled with rice hulls to make a soft, huggable ball.

To display this work, a thread hanger is attached to the ball. You can easily snip this free to display on a stand as a single work of art. Also included are a history of temari and a description of this particular temari, signed by the artist.
