Thimbles were given as love tokens in Victorian times when gifts of any type were discouraged between men and women. Peter Pan and Wendy exchanged thimbles and acorn buttons as kisses. Thimbles were once a gift from a fiance to his future bride. The top of the thimble could be cut off and the body worn as a wedding ring when the lady married. With such a long history thimbles as a tender gesture of affection I have created a series of thimble necklaces.

This is a charm necklace using a tiny (1/2 inch each) pewter thimble charm and two sparkling Swarovski stars. The smaller star (just more than 1/4 inch) hangs from the closure ring while the larger star (1/2 inch) dangles below the thimble. The necklace closes in the front with a heart shaped lobster clasp. The chain and findings are sterling plated and the thimble charm is pewter. The Chain is 20" long and the overall necklace length is 22"
