Exquisite antique Limoges porcelain teacups and saucers. Set of 2 in bright white. (I have 4 cups and saucers all together).

Made by Limoges porcelain maker A. Lanternier. There are unpainted blanks, imported to the U.S. for decoration about a century ago. They date back to 1891 - 1914, according to the Lanternier backstamp. But free of ornament, they have an elegant, minimalist feel and art nouveau contours.

The cups flare out with a slight curve. The saucers have a small foot and inset. Heart profile handles.

cups: 3" x 2.5"
saucers: 6.25"

The backstamps on cups are in forest green:

these are all in *excellent* condition: no chips, no cracks, no gouges. there is a bit of wear on the edge of a couple of the cups. other than that, they are perfect. They'd make a wonderful, unusual gift: antique French porcelain, but as modern looking as can be. Or for a painter, a great way to try your hand at china painting.
