A little hand painted wooden red fly agaric mushroom with eyes.

I am interested in history, how we read things to make meaning, and anthropomorphism. I love making up strange combinations just to see what happens and I am very fond of this little being! I hope that you like him too.

Did you know that the fly agaric, prettiest of all mushrooms and part of many a classic children's story, is actually poisonous...?

The mushroom has been lovingly painted onto found plywood using acrylic paint. The red is a nice, bright, true fire engine red. He has been hand cut and sandpapered and stands at about 9 inches (23 cm) high. He would be happy to look at you from the corner of a sideboard, table, or bookshelf.

Please note that the found wood used for this mushroom is quite old and distressed. The last two pictures are scans which show the detail of the art and the actual wood.

** Please note that all of my wooden items are made from either recycled or sustainably farmed wood. **
