This beautifully detailed sterling silver vintage brooch depicts a Scottish or Irish dancer in traditional dress.

This same brooch was also issued by Walter Lampl under his own name, and I'm guessing that he created the piece for Danecraft, or licensed the design to them. This piece measures 1 7/8" high and 1" wide at the widest point. It's marked DANECRAFT STERLING. Weighs 9.5 grams.

Danecraft did wonderful work in sterling, and this piece is finely wrought, with amazing details. The mottling you see on the surface is much less obvious in person than it is in these magnified photos. The textured kilt and scarf, the pattern on her boots, and the expression on the dancer's face give this pin a lifelike quality.

A miniature work of art! Circa 1940s...
