Yarrow Water is a river in the Borders of Scotland. This beautiful little bag was wet-felted of Karakul locks on Merino-Corriedale batting. It features a focal of crottle-dyed, needle-felted Wensleydale lamb locks. Crottle is a lichen that grows on rocks. There is a long, four-strand braided waxed cord topped by a felt bead surrounded by two horn beads. The felt is strong and hard, and the bag can be thought of as a small basket.

This bag is one of my favorites. It has simple lines and minimum decoration other than the felt itself. It can be worn around the neck or cross-body, but would look smashing hanging on the wall or a piece of furniture to hold small utensils. It is 4.5" at the widest part, 3.5" at the narrowist part, and 6.25" tall.

I am a fiber artist and all my bags are conceived as small works of art.
