Dolley Madison Art Doll

Historical art doll Dolly Madison is waiting to be be added to your collection! I created little Dolly wearing a Colonial style gown in mint green silk with white edged lace and elegant burgundy silk wrap. I fashioned Dolly's hair by a portrait of the famous buxom dame herself, and in one hand she holds a sheer lace fan.

Dolly Madison is uniquely designed from a combination of wire, clay, paint, and wood- with a detailed hand painted face. Her tiny stature is at 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm).

Dolley Madison

Dolley Payne Todd Madison was born in 1768 and died in 1849. She was the wife of the fourth President of the United States, James Madison, and was First Lady of the United States from 1809 to 1817. She also acted as First Lady during the administration of Thomas Jefferson on some occasions, fulfilling the ceremonial functions more usually associated with the President's wife, since Jefferson was a widower.
