This is a vintage souvenir bank collectible from Nashua Iowa depicting the Little Brown Church in the Vale. The actual church was constructed starting in 1862 and finished in 1864. The cheapest paint the congregation could acquire was Ohio Mineral Paint, which would protect the wood but which was unhappily brown, thus the name.

The souvenir bank is cast metal (aluminum) and in good condition. There is some paint loss. The bolt runs through to hold it together and to take apart to get money out. It looks as though the bolt and screw have been replaced with new ones. Measures 5" L x 4" H. Marked on the sides, Little Brown Church In The Vale.

This is a great find for the bank collector or for someone wanting to add to a holiday vignette.
