This is a very lovely super soft handspun wool and silk yarn and I spun it in a way that makes it, for lack of a better description, "self-striping".

There are two kinds of fiber spun into this skein. The pink is an 80/20 Merino/Silk and the white is a lovely wool with a bit of silk, a teensy bit of very subtle sparkle and a very small amount of angora. There are white portions, pink portions and portions where the fibers met in the plying so there it's a pink/white marl. It has lovely drape and luster.

The repeats of each color are long so the stripes will be more like bands in something like a hat. I've been experimenting with this technique and will be spinning more with shorter repeats. This should knit up SIMILAR to the hat in the last photo although there are only two colors in this skein where that one has three. The striping is not even and I cannot tell you exactly how each skein will turn out/knit up. There are places in the skein where the two colors overlap and are plied together so there will be very subtle variations in "stripes".

1.8 ounces, 62 yards, handspun 2-ply. I would recommend a size 9 or possibly size 10 knitting needle with this yarn. There isn't much here but it would be great to mix with other yarn in a project t or is enough to make a baby hat. Would be a lovely cuff on a sweater or a pair of pink mittens.
