Humongous flat back Czech crystal pendant circa 1950. Not only is this pendant large, but it is heavy, weighing in at 12 gms. All the sides are beveled and the bevels themselves are 2.2 mm thick. Forgive my photos. There is NO grey in this crystal. I had to dim the light to show off the facets.

This looks like a piece that was either made for a chandelier or for a pendant. This is machine cut, not hand cut. There is a hidden star inside the glass, which I have tried to show in my pictures.

Even though this is a very heavy pendant, it does not have the iciness that lead crystal with a high lead content has. I do believe this is crystal with some lead, but not as high in lead content as some of the vintage Swarovski pendants I have, which are icy cold. (The lead is inert in the glass and is not harmful unless you start grinding it, which I know you are not going to do.)

The back is flat, so it will be comfortable on bare skin, and there is a large pointed star on the front. The star is an elongated star of David, where the top and bottom points are lengthened and the side points are smaller, also known as the Christmas star.

This would make a beautiful pendant on a ribbon, with other crystals, or a great sun catcher.

Thanks for visiting, happy beading and enjoy!
