This is a lovely, sturdy American grown, processed and spun 70% wool and 30% nylon heavy fingering weight sock yarn.

I'm in love with this colorway. Love. It. :) It's actually a bit richer and "duskier" than it appears in the photos on my monitor...shades of rusty deep orange, dusky purple, dark golden green, a little deep brown...and many variations throughout on all these where they mingled together in the dye pot.

Not super super soft like merino but a medium fine nice sturdy wool and blended with the nylon, this will make a VERY sturdy pair of socks! I can hold it against my neck without any issues at all but super sensitive folks may not want to wear it around their neck. It should be fine for most everyone for socks though!

3.8 oz, 380 yards, 2-ply woolen spun. Fiber grown and processed in the USA. A bit heavier than commercial sock yarns so most folks would use a size 3 needle. Being a continental knitter, I knit rather loosely and usually use a size 2.

Kettle dyed in small batches with commercial acid dyes for color/light/wash-fastness.
