This unique impression of a bonsai tree is made of 26 gauge wire that has been hand twisted and crafted. It is mounted on a beautiful base of Lace Agate that was found in Northern Mexico. The tree has been crafted and mounted to convey a sense of serenity and structure. It is an unusual piece for me, the artist. I was inspired by a book loaned to me by a new friend on growing bonsai trees. Unlike trees I observe in fields and forests, bonsai trees are manicured with loving care over many years to conform to the artist's vision. One principle I picked up on was the intentional arrangement of foliage to allow spaces to see through the tree. This tree is my vision of a bonsai evergreen. I have eliminated most of the internal branches and clustered them toward the outside. The needles have been upturned in a manicured manner. I chose an unusual base of Lace Agate because its lines and texture enhanced the overall feeling I was trying to convey. It certainly does not compare to a well developed bonsai but it does offer a strong impression of one. I am well pleased with it and plan to create more along this theme. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. Height: 9", Width 7".
