It is actually six inches wide but because of the knit stitch this scarf curls into a skinny version of itself. In so doing it makes itself cushy and comfy. The stitch pattern and the yarn combination create a rustic, playful scarf that isn't too heavy.

The scarf was hand knit from two different yarns in a traditional striped stockinette stitch, but it was done in a modern thick-and-thin way. The thinner yarn is a commercial yarn that is 100% acrylic. The thicker yarn is some of my own handspun yarn in 100% Colonial wool. It has two plys: one fluffy single in teal combined with a thin one that changes between black and teal. The overall effect is lots of texture with some color variations.

The scarf is 6 feet long, including the 5-inch fringe at each end.

Hand launder in cool water and dry it flat.
