This lovely, mid-century "instant collection" is the Purinton Apple Series, designed by William Blair in the 1940's. Each piece is handpainted with a ruby-red apple and green leaves/accents. Each retro wall vase has a hole in back to hang/display. Also known as "slip-ware," this set is a heavier pottery material with a semi-gloss glaze. Very nice set of harder-to-find pottery pieces.

Both are stamped Purinton on the bottom and also say "Slip-ware," making it an earlier piece. (Later years dropped the "slip-ware" part.) Both are 3.5" tall. Excellent shape on both.
