Original, beautifully detailed and coloured antique double page chromolithograph of marvellous exotic flowers, printed in 1896.

Orchidaceae, the Orchid family, is the largest family of the flowering plants (Angiospermae). Its name is derived from the genus Orchis. The Royal Botanical Gardens of Kew list 880 genera and nearly 22,000 accepted species, but the exact number is unknown (perhaps as many as 25,000) because of taxonomic disputes.

1. Bulbophyllum minutissimum, 2. Cypropedium caudatum, 3. Cypripedium tessellatum porphyreum, 4. Disa grandiflora - Disa Orchid, 5. Huntleya violacea, 6. Masdevallia Lindeni grandiflora, 7. Oncidium Papilio - Butterfly Orchid, 8. Sobralia liliastrum, 9. Trichocentrum tigrinum splendens, 10. Vanda Boxalli

The size of the print (in inches): 12" x 9,6" (30,5 x 24,5 cm)

Concerning the age of the paper - cca. 110 years - some spots can be occured on the margin and the reverse side, but these do not effect the quality of the lithograph itself as it can be seen on the scan.

Please note, that by antique prints due to their age some imperfections are to be expected.
