This is a novelty horseshoe keychain.

I start with 1/4" square stock, punch 6 square pretend holes (the last photo shows this step being made), I then bend everything into a horseshoe shape.
Next, I drill the hole that will secure the keyring in place.

I put a lot of importance in cleaning each horseshoe after it has been hammered, bent into shape, and "in and out" of the fire numerous times...I acheive the clean look you see in the photos by using the wire wheel and sandpaper, this leaves each horseshoe with a clean attractive look that is perfect for gift giving...

After cleaning, I clear coat the horseshoe for protection and to keep the raw iron look.

A very fun little item to make and to have.

Great gift idea for yourself or someone you like.

Approximately 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" without the ring.
The ring is included.

PS : 4th photo shows the back side of the horseshoe. The texture on the back side is actually the top of my anvil being stamped in the horseshoe from the hammer blows pounding on the other side when punching in the square (pretend) holes.
