This is an 11 color reduction woodcut that I printed for The Gundalow Company in Portsmouth NH to help them raise the 1.2 million dollars needed to build a new boat and new programs. The Gundalow is an historic style of boat that was ubiquitous on the Piscataqua river and the surrounding tributaries for a few hundred years, it is likened to tractor trailer trucks you see on the road now. The Gundalows were used to transport almost everything under the sun and helped shape coastal New Hampshire and Southern Maine. The new vessel, the Gundalow "Piscataqua" was just launched on Dec. 10th 2011 and will likely still be floating our rivers for decades to come.

I printed this 24x26 print using Graphic Chemical and Daniel Smith inks on lightweight kinawashi paper. Each print is numbered, titled and signed and has been hand printed by me in my home studio. The print pictured here is not the print you will receive, it is part of an edition of prints that are similar but never exactly the same. Colors and registration may vary slightly from print to print.
