A wonderfully different working Argus camera from the 1940's! It's sleek, streamlined design was a departure from many brick like Argus cameras at the time, and it features a nifty pop out lens housing that increases it's charm! 50mm, f/4 lens, and a leaf shutter. Includes an extinction meter (an early, and not particularly reliable light meter) inside the chromed top, but I would still use a hand held light meter if I was shooting with this cute little baby. Uses 35mm film, the most widely available! Also a handy exposure guide on the back, this truly was the "camera of the future" of the past.

Marked down from $70.

Camera has a bit of wear - paint chipping to the black coating on the foot of the camera body, as well as inside, and a patch of the leatherette is damaged at the back, showing the brown underneath. In the pics there is a big pale disk on the back - this was actually a clear sticker that I didn't see until afterwords. My husband says I get my "photographer blindness" when I'm shooting. Don't ask. The lens housing comes out but is a little stiff. Lens could use a good cleaning. A screw is missing from the round badge around the lens, making it want to twist a bit. Still beautiful, and in good working order.

Over all, a pretty piece of camera history that is a great addition to a photographer's collection, as a working piece for a student or artist, or as a decorator camera.

Shipping is for flat rate priority, or international first class.
