Adorable little bronze and brass monkey wine bottle opener! We love this little guys playful expression!

Walter Bosse produced spirited animal figurines like these in Austria between the 1920s and 1960s. Here is a bit about Bosse from modernviennabronze.com:

"These brilliant figurines by Walter Bosse represent seminal works in Viennese brass. Created between the 1920s and 1960s, Bosse’s unique figurines are as intriguing today as they were decades ago, and have served as a source of happiness and inspiration to collectors around the world. Bosse’s friendly and optimistic figures also show a sense of keen observation and character. Their expressiveness and economy of detail tell a story deeper than that of mere collectibles. Handcrafted in solid brass and hand finished to a golden sheen with black patina, this style, originated by Walter Bosse together with Herta Baller, was known as the “Black Golden Line.”

The main body has a dark patina while the face, hands and feet are polished. The head lifts off to reveal the cork screw. So cute and functional!

Measures 4 1/2 " high, 5 " wide
