REPLOGLE "6in celestial globe" tin globe from the 1950's space race.
Gustav Brueckmann, cartographer. Replogle Globes, Inc. Chicago. Transfer lithographed on to steel. Heavens finished in dark blue with celestial ecliptic, Names and shows the zodiac configurations. Popular configurations such as big dipper, the sickle, etc. shown by yellow lines. With full ring red meridian raised by bent wire supports attached to a pressed metal base. Among the last celestial globes as known for centuries before NASA and the Hubbell telescope provided a more realistic view of the universe today. Some light rust spots. Scarce globe, amazingly still with original tags.
