Beautiful hand stitched embroidered lace known as Ayrshire adorning the neckline and shoulders of this little girl's under blouse. It is made of a fine cotton batiste with handmade bobbin lace at the neck and arms.

This form of dense white on white embroidery was developed in the early 1800's in the Scottish region of Aryshire. Unfortunately this form of skilled needlework died out in the late nineteenth century with the development of embroidery machines making this little garment a true vintage treasure.

Dimensions: 9 1/2 inches from shoulder to hem. 13 inches across the bodice from armhole to armhole. 19 inches around the neck.

Condition: It is in excellent condition and comes to you freshly laundered and pressed.
