We craft vintage books into antique daily journals. Each one is unique. These book journals make thoughtful gifts for colleagues, friends, family and even for you.

This, among the many we are listing, is the copyright 1898 (yes, 1800s) book entitled Evils of the Cities: A Series of Practical and Popular Discourses Delivered in the Brooklyn Tabernacle by T. De Witt Talmage, D.D., published in Chicago by Rhodes and McClure Publishing. The highly ornate dark green with debossed silver cover is most unusual and a rare find. The covers enclose the blank journal pages plus several pages from the original book of the fragile aging original pages with b/w plates. Book covers show some shelf wear, which makes them all the more charming.

At Write On, Inc., we carefully select vintage books that have no commercial value, so don't worry, we haven't destroyed a valuable antiquarian treasure. We are upcycling old treasures and creating new ones—especially if you capture your poetry and daily thoughts inside. (We even recycle the pages we have removed into other flea-market craft items.)

But here's the cover story: Sometimes vintage books are in plentiful supply or they're being recycled by local libraries. We carefully list any of value on amazon and with others that have unusual or striking vintage covers and wonderful color or b/w plates, we create journals so you can re-read yesterday’s books—some may be over 100 years old (please see specifics on this listing).

Many spines are tattered, so we remove those, smooth the edges and gently bind with plastic-coated spiral wire. Read between the covers: Before we put it all together, we select paper that matches the original pages, include at least 50 blank pages with no lines and then include charming color plates, black and white illustrations, maybe a contents page, or poems directly from the original book.

We ship media mail on the day you purchase your item, so we can pass along the reduced postage and speed your package to you. We guarantee satisfaction.
