This is a nice old Tole Bowl with the colorful, but now muted, stenciling on the inside as well as around the outer top edge of the bowl.

I don't know the age, but it is very worn on some of the patterns around the inside of the bowl.
Quite large areas of the paint have been chipped off which would be consistent with a very old piece of tinware or tole. Other than the paint and the decor, the bowl seems to be in Great Condition! There are no rusted through places in the tin. It is very stable and sturdy.

The designs of the patterns remind me of Pennsylvania Dutch stylistic patterning -- but I am not sure of where it came from.
It is attractive to me BECAUSE it is so old looking and certainly not perfect in its paint and patterns. It would be a perfect bowl for fruit in a kitchen setting !

The top edges are rolled and the 4 seams in the bowl are also very prominent on the inside and out. Rolled edges of toleware usually indicate age.

It measures approximately 12 inches across the top edge.
Depth is 3 5/8 inches deep.

If you have questions, please feel free to ask me -- before you buy !

The quite wonderful Tole Bowl will be well packed and insured before it leaves me !
