This is a print reproduction of an original oil painting by me. I had a Ball Jar filled with flowers from my yard in the center of my table. As I walked by I was stopped in my tracks by how beautiful the water was reflecting the light from outside. During this painting, I was reading the Bell Jar, by Sylvia Plath, and it's mood filtered into this particular painting.
While it's inspired by The Bell Jar, it's also a bit sentimental. Every fall my mother, grandmother and sister and I would get together and spend a day canning all of the tomatoes from our collective gardens. These are some of the best memories I have. My mom and grandmother are both gone now, and I'm reminded of them when I look at this painting.
