"Morning Cup III": an original linoleum block print on Arches watercolor paper, with watercolors, 2011.

Moments of peace and serenity are all too difficult to find. Greeting the dawn over a hot cup of coffee is one way, sometimes, to find such a moment.

The print is made with oil-based Daniel Smith Burnt Umber Traditional Relief Ink, which will never fade. The paper is Arches 140 lb watercolor paper. I first carved the linoleum block with great care. I inked the block with a brayer in the customary way, laid the Arches paper on it very carefully, and ran block and paper through an etching press, to make the print. I then stretched the paper in the traditional way, by moistening, taping to a board, and drying. I then did the watercolors.

Edition size: 20. This is print 2/20.
Each print is numbered, titled, signed and dated.
Image size: 8 inches wide, 16 inches tall.
Paper size: 15 inches wide, 20 inches tall.

This art will be shipped via the US Postal Service. I place the print between two acid-free papers, and I then loosely roll it and place it inside a home-made cardboard tube. I put that inside a 6" x 6" square mailing tube. This is a very sturdy package. I have had good luck with this way of packaging, and with the US Postal Service. This method saves on shipping costs, both for me and for the customer.
