In heraldry, a tower symbolizes safety and grandeur, the owl symbolizes one who is vigilant and acute of wit, the laurel leaves symbolize peace and or triumph, success, renown glory and victory and triumph. The tree symbolizes life and the mystical connection of the earth with heaven and the underworld and more specifically, the cypress symbolizes death and eternal life thereafter. There are many meanings of a woman in heraldry, but nudity is a state of nature and innocence, unconcealed reality and pure truth.
I would love to travel back in time to learn the story and meaning of this fabulous seal! I do wonder if this could be Athena and the owl? Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom and the tree could be an olive tree... Athena's gift to Greece because it supplied people with food, oil and wood.
I have oxidized the fine silver wax seal charm to highlight the exquisite details.
It measures approximately 7/8 by 1”
The wax seal charm is shown on a sterling silver cable chain with a spring ring clasp, but you can also choose to order just the charm. See the options in the drop down box.
