Thanks for taking a peek at this vintage set of six wooden coat buttons. They are made from three different colors of layered lightweight wood cut asymmetrically in such a way to expose the lovely contrasts in the colors. I have seen this layered style called "stacked" also. Almost a go go effect.

These buttons have steel shanks. I am guessing 40's, but I could be off by a decade or more. I cut most of the threads off the back but left just a tad of the dark green wool which would be what these had been most recently attached to.

Size: 25mm (1 inch) x 5mm deep without the shank. One button (top left) is significantly thicker than the rest, 7.5 mm.

Condition: USED. Two of these have wear on the surface. One has a bent shank, visible in the pic. There is some wear from use to the top surface of these, some more noticeable than others, and one resulting in 5 x 1mm pits. Could use refinishing, and some sort of clear coating to really bring out the color effects and textures in these!

All of that said, these would make great additions to your collection, or to complete your unique project!
