Days: 75 fresh 100 dry

This stunning scarlet corn was homegrown on my daddy's ranch without pesticides or chemicals!

A striking variety of corn grown since the 1800's, Bloody Butcher is probably the deepest red corn you'll find! This corn originates through the mixing of Native American corn with the white settlers' seed. Ears grow to 12", with a dark and bright red color. Plants grow up to 12 feet tall ans are extremely drought hardy. You can harvest the cobs young and pinkish (pictures 1 and 2) for sweet fresh eating as corn on the cob. If you decide to wait from 100 to 120 days, the cobs will dry(picture 3) and the corn will turn blood red in color and be ready for grinding to flour. The rich and bold taste of the ground corn makes it perfect for making red tortillas, tamales, or cornbread. If you'd like, keep the corn as a decoration to stun your guest during Halloween or to set out as a centerpiece during the holidays.

Each hand designed and child decorated packet contains at least 10 organic homegrown seeds! Seed number is limited as my daddy was only able to plant 2 stalks. Still... that's 10 stalks of tasty corn for you! Each seed packet features it's own special image drawn by our residential little artists! My friends and I do not use pesticides or chemicals in our garden!

Shipping costs cover the base shipping and the handling- this includes production of seed packets, seed harvesting, and preservation. We also isolate plants to ensure strain purity and harvest, dry, and clean each seed pod by hand! All the best, because we care!
