Antique Print Vue Palais Du Senat Cote Du Luxembourg Chamoun France Antique Engraving Ready to Frame Antique Art Print Vintage Color Print

Wonderful detail of daily life in late 1870's France. This print is a genuine antique and not a modern copy. Printed on fine, thick stock art paper you can see the guide line for matting and framing. I searched the 'Net a hundred different ways for more information and all I discovered was 1 black & white listed on every old print website, no longer for sale.

A bit of history: Marie de Medici (wife of Henri IV of France ) bought the land on which the Palace now sits and started plans for the building in 1612. Up until the French Revolution it was a princely residence.

Declared a National Palace in 1791, the Luxembourg Palace became home to the Directoire, the House of Peers (1814-1848), and the Senate of the Third Republic (from 1879).

The actual size of the print is 5.5" x 8.5", the matting outline is 8.5" x 11". The overall size is: 10.5 x 15".
