This comprehensive 719 page book was published in 1969 by McGraw-Hill. It is hardcover and comes in a slip case. The book features wine from regions around the world including France, Germany and Italy. It also discusses lesser known areas such as North and South Africa and South America. Each area features maps of the region as well as numerous color plates.

The editor, Andre L. Simon, was the founding president of the International Wine & Food Society and author of over 100 books on the topic.

The book is in overall very good condition. The slip case is in excellent condition. The book's cover is slightly scuffed. The pages of the book are in very good condition. One page is ripped. Pages have no stains. The binding is worn in some areas due to the size of the book.
