A very nice pair of C.A. Lund Snowshoes made in Hastings, MN in 1943. Wood is solid, webbing is strong, leather is in good condition. There is one missing heal strap that measures about 3/4" by 18", otherwise these snowshoes appear to be fully functional. These snowshoes are in very nice condition and would make an excellent addition to a collection, a wonderful display item or they could be used and enjoyed.

The Lund Company operated in Hastings from 1927-1945 at which time a major fire forced the company to relocate to North St. Paul. Lund supplied snowshoes to the military during the war and snowshoes were given serial numbers. Often a pair of military issue snowshoes would not have the same serial number due to pairs being mixed up.

This pair has the following numbers stamped into the end of each snowshoe:
10x58  1943  38?4 (third number is hard to read) and
10x58  1943  4432.

They measure approximately 5 feet tall by 8" wide.
