Adorable set of 8 early rigid plastic bird clip on decors or ornaments date to circa 1960, or perhaps a few years earlier. Set includes 2 of each color: pastel pink, pastel yellow, sky blue, and rosy salmon pink. Have some nice feather details on wings and tail, and painted black eyes. Clips work with a small metal spring inside. These are great examples of early plastics manufacturing where detailed items were molded in pieces, then assembled and glued -- the glued line should be visible in my photos.

All 8 pieces have molded mark HONG KONG on the underside of the tails. Measure just under 4 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide. Clip expands to about 3/8 of an inch maximum -- I would use them clipped to something much thinner to keep the old springs inside from breaking!

In excellent condition -- amazing for their age! As shown in my photos, all the clips have their springs and hold securely. Colors have held up well. I don't see any chips, cracks or little nibbled bits of loss anywhere. Some wear to the black "eye makeup". I believe these were made to be Christmas ornaments, and can certainly perch on a Holiday tree. But these are fun for Spring decor as well, or year 'round if you favor Cottage style!
