This is a nicely patterned stone, but mostly the bands are visible from the back.
A healed fracture area makes a slightly detractive showing on the shoulder. Should be able to hind behind the bezel. Still accounts for a good savings.

reduced from 20 to 18.

All Carnelian, or Cornelian is not created equal! The color in Carnelian is iron oxides that slowly infiltrate the porous agate over centuries. It begins with a yellow staining and slowly as the ions of iron concentrate accumulates to shades of red. From pale butterscotch through the deepest sunset reds, the whole spectrum of Oregon Carnelian agate. Much of today's Carnelian agate is dyed for uniformity and because it is scarce, and demand outstrips supply. All my Carnelian I find. Big difference.
The mountains in Oregon yield these wonderful nodules of all shades of this superb agate.
Deep red banded agate from the foothills of the cascade mountains. Found in winter by myself. Nothing on earth like red Oregon Carnelian. Excellent cut and superb polish front and back.
