The essence of New England is exuded in this fall foliage print by R. Batchelder of the Kay Dee Company in Hope Valley RI. A collection of barns on open farmland set the scene while the vivid autumnal tones of golden yellow, crimson red, and rusted orange make the picture pop against a mountainous backdrop. It is approximately 40 years old and hand printed on 100% pure linen. The artist Batchelder has signed his name on the bottom left hand corner of the print. A double border wooden frame supports the picture while a card stock backer holds it in place. A brass ball chain for hanging has been constructed on top. There is no glass fronting on this print, and given that, the quality of the print and linen has held up very well. The only wear has been some light lifting of the canvas on the left hand side (cannot be seen in pictures because it is only noticeable when touched). In addition, there are a few small specks of white paint on the frame but other than that it is in excellent condition and has not suffered any other damages. The print is an excellent addition to any room as it's bold colors waken you to the beautiful simplicity of farms in the fall. Would go great with a country style abode or a home with rustic appeal.
