My all time favorite stone, the Moss Aquamarine. It is such a beautiful gemstone - ranging from a steely blue to a darker, earthy green. I used a faceted Pear shaped riolette for the middle stone, and flanked it with two , smaller, Ascher Princess cut brios . All of these stones have a wonderful "mossy" appearance - with specks of iron embedded. I love the way the antiqued brass wiring really compliments the coloring of these stones, as well as the vintage, decorated antiqued brass beads. I strung the beads and attached the briolettes to a very warm, earthy piece of dark brown leather cord. The clasp is a simple, antiqued brass spring clasp. Total length of cord is a approx. 16 1/2 inches, with an additional three inches in extender to add versatility and wear-ability.

AQUAMARINE IS THE BIRTHSTONE FOR MARCH. (Pisces and Aries)

Aquamarine is a member if the beryl family. It is a brilliant, clear gemstone. Its color ranges from light to dark blue, and sometimes a bluish green. Aquamarine is traditionally the birthstone for March and is believed to be a universal symbol of youth, hope, and health. Aquamarine is commonly found alongside other Beryl’s in countries such as Russia and Brazil; but it is also found in other parts of the world including Colorado, which has named it their official state gem.
Moss Aquamarine is a variety of Beryl which is colored by iron trace elements that form minute internal characteristics giving the stone a moss-like appearance. The stone is most recognizably a greenish blue hue showing mossy features within a transparent gem body. Mined in Brazil, Africa, Madagascar, Pakistan, Australia, US, and China.
