This habotai silk scarf is dyed with the same technique featured in Belle Armoire magazine, Winter 2012, p. 24. The colors are neutral and result from a natural dyeing technique using food going bad in the fridge. That may sound strange, but the colors are not anything you could get from commercial dyes. They are both soft and dramatic. In this particular scarf, some patterns are reminiscent of marble.

The ingredients used in this scarf are onions and skins, tomato, red grapes, 2 peach pits and mint tea. This is a four-week dyeing process. The scarf is prewashed and ironed to heat set the colors.

Size: Approximately 14" x 72"

Care instructions: hand wash in gentle soap in warm to cool water. Iron on silk setting. Or dry clean.
