My late husband loved collecting vintage pewter. This one is well-used, but in great condition on the exterior. I can imagine it being used in the field during the war or travelling to hold tea or water, or perhaps other beverages. It might have been used to serve communion in an Early American church.
The inside is pitted, but no holes; scratching is minimal.
This cup could be used to hold flowers, dried or fresh; or pens and pencils.
It is 3" high and 3" in diameter at the flared top.
The bottom has a circular marking with a "C", elongated "4" and "W" with an "XX under the long 4.
