I'm really excited to be using this fabric to make dance wear with. It's the very same fabric used to make the traditional Turkish "uc etek" (OOCH etek), the long coat-like garment worn over shalvar. The colorful woven pattern remains almost unchanged from the small pieces of fabric found in Central Asia that date from the first millennium BC. This fabric is generally used in the folk costumes of Western Turkey. It's a little bit shiny and feels like satin.

The vest is made to be worn over a costume bra. It's shaped to fit your curves and there is no stitching showing at the neckline to distract from your feminine form. The arm holes are hand finished so no stitching shows there either. The bottom of the vest also has a clean look without a stitch line. It's fully lined with an orange cotton polyester blend.

The buttons on this vest are vintage. The second button from the top is a beautiful metal one that shows the resolute face of a bold lion. The back of the vest is decorated with a larger, matching "eye" button framed by glossy black glass beads. The neckline is trimmed with the traditional Turkish "oya" crochet pattern that has tiny iridescent orange glass beads worked into it. I brought this trim back with me from one of my trips to Turkey. I stitched black beads on to accent the delicate stitch work. There may be more than one vest made from this fabric, but no two will ever be alike because the buttons and other decoration will be different on each one.

This vest is a medium size. It will fit a 38"to 40" bust. Be sure to measure yourself over the bra that you intend to wear with the vest. It will fit a 33 1/2" to a 35" rib cage. There is about 2" of additional fabric in front so the buttons may be moved to fit a little larger size if necessary. The nape (the measurement from the center back neckline to the center back bottom) measures 13 1/4".

I recommend washing the vest by hand in a mild detergent and warm water. Hang to dry or dry flat. It's safe to press the fabric if necessary, use a warm iron.

I've got other vests in the shop too. To take a look at them, click http://www.etsy.com/shop/ZambakDesigns?section_id=8034345 To find a pair of harem pants to go with the vests, click http://www.etsy.com/shop/ZambakDesigns?section_id=6928119

The sequin bra that the form is wearing is not available. If I can answer any questions, please don't hesitate to convo me. I'm happy to do it.
