General Douglas MacArthur's prayer touches the heart of what it means to be a good man. I pray this prayer for my three adult sons.

This exquisite 8 X 10 watercolor design is professionally reproduced on quality watercolor paper with at least one deckled edge and shows crisp, bold lettering and lovely sword and ivy border, ready for framing with or without a mat.

Larger sizes are available for a modest price adjustment.

The 5x7 is a separate listing.

This and "Grow Me A Daughter" are the most sought after of the designs I offer. Each print comes embellished with three genuine Swarovski crystals strategically positioned on the sword and ivy border.

For a limited time, the print with the phrase in the next to last line, "his father" will be a CUSTOM ORDER. The cost will be the same, but I will need more time to get it to you.

The last two lines will read as follows until I can get more of the traditional "his father" wording:
Then I will dare to whisper,
"I have not lived in vain."

PLEASE INDICATE IF YOU WANT the "FATHER" version. Otherwise, you will receive the one that states, without specifying father or mother, "I have not lived in vain".

Available in any size you need by request. The last photo shows 23k gold leafing, a different listing:

Matting/framing available for additional charge.

Who will be strong enough to know when he is weak,
and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid,
One who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat
and humble and gentle in victory.

Build me a son whose wishes will not take the place of deeds
a son who will know Thee and know himself
the foundation of knowledge.

Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort,
but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge
Here let him learn compassion for those who fail.

Build me a son whose heart will be clear, whose goal will be high
a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men
One who will reach into the future
yet never forget the past.

And after all thse things are his,

Add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor so that he may always be serious
yet never take himself too seriously.
Give him humility so that he may always remember
the simplicity of true greatness
the open mind of wisdom
& the meekness of true strength.

Then I--will dare to whisper
"I have not lived in vain".

--General Douglas MacArthur, May 1952
