A classic colour combination of mustard and grey in beautiful shades of 100% Merino wool. For the lady who knows how to use colour in her wardrobe - this brooch would look wonderful on your cardigan, jacket or coat.

“In 1976, researchers discovered fragments of tobacco (leaf) in the abdominal cavity of Rameses II during a routine re-examination of his mummy conducted in Paris. Much touted at the time in the popular press, the discovery of tobacco in arguably the most famous royal Egyptian mummy (dating back to 1213 BC), aroused renewed speculation about possible direct links (both through trade and cultural exchange) between ancient Egypt and the New World. [...] In more recent years, a strong case has been made for explaining the presence of tobacco (as well as cocaine and cannabis) in numerous Egyptian mummies through nineteenth and early twentieth century contamination – in the case of tobacco through the use of nicotine-derived insecticides – rather than any sort of contemporary contact.”
From; "Burley paid the bills:" Twentieth century tobacco culture in the central Ohio River valley by Jeffery Alan Duvall, Purdue University.

I gently wet-felted each of these 100% Merino wool balls before mulling over the nicest colour combinations... After some musing I decided on this lovely combination of mustard, graphite and smoke – I then firmly stitched them together to create this stylish cluster.

**Vital statistics:
The Mustard, Graphite and Smoke Brooch is approx. 5cm/ 2 inches wide and 4cm or just over 1 ½ inches long.
