Antique black ankle boots with original laces and real fur trim, these boots fit over a size 6, 6 1/2, or 7 shoe to keep out the cold and snow. (The bottom of the boots say "7"). I wore them over my 5 1/2 shoes back in the day, because they were perfect to wear to a formal event when the weather was bad. No need to carry your good shoes because you were wearing them, AND you made a great entrance in the beautiful boots! They have been "retired" for the past 20 years in a cedar-lined closet. These were my grandmother's, I kid you not. She, a Mae West character if ever you met one, hated the cold and -- you guessed it -- moved to Florida in the early 60's. She gave my mother all her "cold" stuff, so these boots came to me through that lineage. The fabric is very similar to black velveteen, but is more water repellant, the bottoms are rubber, and the fur trim is still in good condition, though there is a worn area on the back of the left boot (see photo 4). Check out the cool check-patterned wool lining, too! Very warm. The original laces are a cotton mesh, in great condition, and have little tassels, sort of, on the end. Let me tell you, wearing these boots feels as sexy as it looks.
