Brand new for the new year~ Meet Ivy, a beautiful little Spring lamb

A little impatient, Ivy couldn't wait for Spring to arrive; she insisted that I knit her now. So here she is, happy to be making her debut appearance. Ivy is the latest of my OOAK (one of a kind) lambs, hand-knit and adapted from the original, Fuzzy Mittens knit lamb that I fell in love with the first time that I saw it.

Ivy loves pink so I've hand-knit a sweater vest for her, combining two yarns, a soft, light-pink alpaca blend yarn & a fine, soft-peach, mohair yarn. Except for her face, hands & feet, Ivy is knit from a very soft yarn called "Silky Twist" which I was excited to try because of all of the twisty "curls" in it. When knit it adds a wonderful nubby texture, suggestive of a real lamb. Ivy's hands, face & feet are knit from a soft, heathered-brown, slightly fuzzy, yarn that is 100% acrylic. All of these yarns, including the yarn from Ivy's sweater, are hand washable in warm water, should you decide to bathe her. Her filling is 100% polyester- and also washable.

Ivy is my largest lamb so far, measuring 13 3/4" tall when standing, (which she cannot do on her own.) Her face is entirely hand-embroidered by me using 100% cotton DMC embroidery floss. The arms & legs of the lambs appear loose & dangly, but that is intentional & part of their huggable charm. It in no way affects their ability to stay attached to the body. The arms & legs are sewn many times back & forth, from one arm/leg, through the body to the other arm/leg- and back again, each time going through the body, so that one arm/leg is attached to the other arm or leg. Then each is individually stitched to the body as well, so despite the "loose" appearance, they are in fact, very solidly & strongly attached.

Being so "new", Ivy is a bit quiet & shy, but once she gets to know you, you'll see a very sweet & lovely disposition emerge~ the kind that makes you just want to sit and hold her. Ivy looks adorable sitting on a shelf in a baby or child's room, as well as sitting or lying on a bed. Ivy also adds a wonderful touch to the decor of any room that has been decorated in a country or "folk" theme.

Ivy~ made with love~ guaranteed to love you back!

*** May be washed by hand in warm water & laid flat to air-dry.

****Because of her delicate nature, Ivy isn't recommended as a toy for a child under the age of 5, but she makes an excellent piece for the nursery decor if placed high on a shelf out of a young child's reach. For any girl over the age of 5 who will give her gentle love, Ivy makes a wonderful companion!
