Danish Modern Pinched Glass And Pewter Decanter - Art Deco Green Glass And Pewter Vase Made In Denmark

Produced in the 1930's, with "Denmark" stamped into the stunning hammered pewter, this Art Deco decanter is phenomenal. Utilizing a pinched glass technique, with pewter inlay around the collar of the bottle, this piece is a classic of antebellum European design. The angles created by the pinched glass are incredibly luscious, and the addition of pewter gives this piece a wonderful sense of Danish elegance. This is one of the finest examples of early Danish pinched glass we've seen, and the design of the pewter is strikingly more sleek than most other pieces of its time. This item appears to have at one point included a stopper, which has disappeared over the years; however, we find that without it, this item takes an an even stronger sense of artistic abstraction. Perfect for use as a vase, or simply for display. In pristine condition, with very little wear for a piece of this age, this vase would make a striking addition to any Mid Century Scandinavian collection!
