Stated First Edition with dust jacket
340 pp., Dimensions: 9" x 11"

Hard to find in this good condition!

Wonderful old book, published in the 100th year of the founding of Punch, the classic weekly English Magazine, this volume has 1,000 cartoons covering just about every subject imaginable in it's pages. Includes the full color 8-pg. parody that Punch did of the New Yorker magazine -- and -- 16 other pages of cartoons in full color (excellent to frame I would think).

Sections include: People at Work, Clothing, Entertainment Worlds, The Artists Corner, Love & Courtship and many others.

Excellent condition, internal pages are flat, tidy and no damage like tears or stains. The page edges of the text block are crisp and neat. One page has a thumb mark (pg vii in the foreward) -- that's it, the rest is excellent.

The book's cover boards are beautiful: clean, sharp edges; Near Fine. The dust jacket is present, a deep orange background with Punch himself on the cover -- the DJ has some wear and loss, the hinges are delicate at the outside edges but the DJ spine and covers are unfaded.

I would ship this via Media Mail for a flat fee of $5.50 and am happy to ship overseas (ask me for a quote) -- thanks for looking!
