This is a beautiful tin litho friction butterfly toy in good vintage condition. From the 1940s-1950s.

I've shared a dozen of these from my collection on Etsy, and some have their tradeoffs!

This one is in good condition from a visual standpoint. There is minimal paint loss on the surface- there's a scratch on the back of the left wing as seen in the photos. The underside has some scratching and paint loss.

The wings are still attached by the fragile little slip of punched tin which I would handle gently. I've had to repair these many times before. This should not be over-used, the attached area is VERY fragile.

From a mechanical standpoint- the inner friction mechanism is working well. You will be able to lightly apply pressure on the back and move it forward so the wings go up and down.

I always recommend for display only- definitely not meant to be played with any longer. Absolutely gorgeous- in lovely muted colors.

Amazing gift for a butterfly or tin toy collector!

It is about 5" wide with the wings fully extended.

Thank you for looking!
