Made with a mix of domestic & Exotic Hardwoods, Katalox - Hard Maple - Amazon Rosewood and African Mahogany, four very beautiful, dense & durable exotic & domestic hardwoods. No stock photos here...the pick shown is the actual pick you will receive. This pick design allows the guitarist to use up to three tips, and grip this ergonomic '"tanto-tip" guitar pick with exceptional control, great for all types of stringed instruments.
This custom handcrafted guitar pick was meticulously crafted with the aforementioned hardwoods, it features laminated strips of katalox, hard maple, & Amazon rosewood in between some African mahogany outside edges, for a simple yet sleek & custom look. Concave rough sanded thumb grooves on each side provide a superior grip that enables the guitarist to really explore new highs in guitar playing. This pick measures approx. 1-3/16” or 31 mm long X 7/8" or 22 mm wide, it is about 3 mm thick at the thickest part of the pick, but feels & plays thinner due to the thumb grooves on each side, the pick tapers down at each tip for maximum playability, & was designed with the guitarist in mind for total control, it is treated with a special oil blend, for lasting protection I let the pick soak in the oil to ensure that the pick is deeply penetrated, I then apply a natural bees wax paste & hand rub the pick for a smooth & silky finish, & if you perspire or moisten your finger tips, it will actually improve your grip. It may take a while to get used to playing with a wooden pick, but every guitar player that I know, simply can't live without their hardwood guitar picks. So why not take your playing to new highs with the true tones that my handmade Artisan wooden picks employ! This very cool custom pick would also make an excellent gift! Thanks for looking!

KATALOX - Swartzia Cubensis
The tree is native to Central America
The sapwood is creamy white or off-white in color, while the heartwood can range from brown or reddish brown to very dark brown & sometimes appearing nearly black. The grain is generally straight but can sometimes be wavy or interlocked, and the texture is usually fine to medium. Katalox is a very dense and hard wood, much harder than oak or hard maple, making it very heavy as well. The luster is considered to be medium, & it finishes very well.

HARD MAPLE - Acer Saccharum
The tree is Native to North America – All along the Northern United States and throughout Canada.
Hard maple is creamy white with a reddish tinge and usually has a straight grain, sometimes very figured, also referred to as "curly," "fiddleback," and "birds-eye" figure. Fine brown growth rings give an attractive figure on plain sawn surfaces. Rays are longer than in soft maple, the texture is fine and even.

AMAZON ROSEWOOD - Dalbergia Spruceana
The tree is native to Brazil in the Amazon River region, & grows throughout South America.
Also referred to as "Jacaranda do para" or "spruceana", this species resembles Brazilian Rosewood (Dalbergia nigra) and is used for similar purposes, though odor and subtle grain characteristics are noticeably different. Rosewoods in general have been prized throughout history because of their richly exotic and vividly contrasting grain. In terms of sheer beauty, few woods can compare to a true Rosewood. In order for a wood to be considered "true" or "genuine" Rosewood, the tree must be a member of the specific genus Dalbergia (Leguminosae family).

AFRICAN MAHOGANY - Khaya Ivorensis
The tree is Native to Africa, & grows mainly in West tropical Africa - Angola, Cameroon, Gabon, Ghana, Liberia, & Nigeria.
African Mahogany heartwood ranges from light to deep reddish-brown in color, and is absolutely gorgeous, the grain is straight to interlocked. It's texture is medium to coarse, the wood finishes well and has a lustrous quality. African Mahogany in the Khaya genus is considered to be a valid substitute for Honduran Mahogany (Swietenia Macrophylla), otherwise known as “Genuine Mahogany” which has become very pricey due to current availability.
