Presenting a Victorian “crazy quilt” pillow which features a stunning composition of velvet, silk, and paisley pieces with lovely embroidered borders, and embroidered pictorial elements, including a tree, a butterfly, poppies, the moon and stars, daisies, and an iris.

The cushion measures 15 by 16-1/2 inches and contains a pillow insert of pure goose-down. The cushion back is bottle green panne velvet with two brass button closures ( the buttonholes show signs of wear).

This pillow was made in the period from 1890 to 1920. The range of colors, the design, and the condition of the fabrics make this an exceptional late Victorian / Edwardian textile piece. If you would like a photograph of the pillow back, or a close-up of any area, please start an Etsy conversation and I will send additional photos.
