This is your classic White Label Frye campus boot with the standard stacked wooden heel and thick leather sole. There are signs of wear all over these boots but, structurally, they are in great shape.

From a distressed vs. damaged perspective, which is an important balance to strike when buying vintage items of any kind, (in my opinion) the upside on this pair is pretty high. Yes, eventually, you will probably want to get your friendly neighborhood cobbler to put a few stitches in the leather lining along the cuffs and replace the heel caps in order to make sure that they keep truckin' for years to come. But, the way that the leather has naturally conditioned on this pair accompanied by the light scuffing throughout makes them a stage ready, shoot worthy addition to any vintage lover's closet.

Maker/Brand: Frye
Marked Size: 7 1/2 D (mens)
Modern fit: these would probably also work for a women's 9 - 9 1/2

See measurements below to insure sexiest fit:

10 1/2" length of outer sole (back end of bottom of heel measured to sole's end at toe)
3 3/4" width outer sole (at widest part)
12 1/2" height of uppers (from top of cuff to beginning of sole)
2" height of heel (including thickness of sole)
14 1/2" circumference of opening

What's the damage?

The heel caps will need replacing soon in order to ensure a long happy life for this pair. The wear seems concentrated on the back edge of the heel making these a perfect candidate for those Kiwi heel savers you can get in almost any department or grocery store.

The uppers have scuff marks and scratches all over them, no actual cuts or tears, just the kind of patina that is often preferred on this style of boot. The stacked wooden heels are in great shape, not loose at all, and the leather soles are in remarkable shape. If you are getting your cobbler to do some light work on them, you could include some replacement nails in the soles, but it's by no means necessary. The stitching on the top cuffs is coming undone in a few spots but that's an easy fix.
