What is a dryer ball anyway? No, it's not that stuff that clogs up the lint trap on your dryer....although I think there should be something useful and clever you should be able to do with that stuff.

A dryer ball is a wonderfully useful ball of felted wool used in your home dryer that has the benefit of taking minutes off the drying time, reducing static electricity on your clothing, and is chemical free!!! These are a little bigger than our needle felted balls.

Our dryer balls are made with 100% wool yarn and/or rovings. We have a couple styles, but each contains a hard felted woolen core and are approximately the size of a tennis ball.

What you get: 3 dryer balls to get you started. They are pre-felted so no unraveling and are assorted patterns. This listing is for 3 teal lime dryer balls.

How does it work?

Wool is a highly absorbent fiber and also attracts static. It likes to suck in water, so it draws the moisture out of your dry clothes. The balls also help separate the clothing for better air circulation, thus faster drying time. Finally, the little natural, wooly barbs help to gently soften your clothing without chemicals as they tumble about in your laundry.

How many to use?

We suggest starting with 3 balls for small loads and between 6-9 for regular or large loads. The more you use the better the results, although we often just use one and think that does the trick.

How long do they last?

We've been using the same balls for .... well, forever. In fact, they just live in our dryer between uses waiting for the next load (which at our house is pretty often).

To scent or not?

Our dryer balls are unscented for those with sensitivities like ourselves, but you can add a couple drops of essential oil (we suggest lavender, tea tree, or sweet orange) to the outside of the ball prior to tumbling to add a light scent to your laundry. The scent will not last on the balls, so reapplication will be necessary.

Happy laundry!
